Currently, we are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working research assistants to help run several of our materials simulations/computations. Interested undergraduates are invited and encouraged to participate in MTG's research activities, and a commitment of at least one semester is expected. Outstanding undergraduates may also have the chance to be lead/co-authors in highly-cited publications. If you’re interested in this research opportunity, please contact Aloysius for more information.
We always welcome highly motivated and outstanding graduate students to join our research group. Opportunities differ by semester and year, and scholarships are often available for highly qualified candidates. Interested students should contact Aloysius at any time. Alternatively, you may contact any of our current graduate students to learn more about our group.
Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship (For researchers from Germany only)
In providing Feodor Lynen Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables highly-qualified scientists and scholars from Germany who are just embarking on their academic careers and who completed their doctorates less than four years ago to spend extended periods of research (6 – 24 months) abroad.
Scientists and scholars from all disciplines may apply. Applicants choose an academic host from some 15,000 academics in the Humboldt Network abroad. The fellowship amount varies according to target country and personal circumstances. After your fellowship – and throughout your entire academic career – you will be able to benefit from Humboldt Foundation sponsorship. A Humboldt Foundation selection committee meets in February, June and October to decide on applications. Every year, approximately 90 fellowships are granted. In the last few years, the success rate was roughly 40 %.
As a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and a member of the Humboldt Network abroad, Aloysius is entitled to host Feodor Lynen Research Fellows.
If you are a graduate student, or a recent PhD (within the last four years), from Germany interested in working in our group, please read the Feodor Lynen fellowship description and get in touch with Aloysius.
